The highly streamlined Lx POL polarizing microscope delivers reliability and comfort through precision opto-mechanical engineering.  Tight design tolerances with the SF (strain-free) optical series produce near-zero optical impurity interference.  Careful attention to the sub-stage polarized extinction disc and individually centerable objectives yield a highly controlled light path with respect to stage orientation, and ultimately a sharp contrast image.

    Lx POL Advantages:

    prima-1

The Lx POL polarizing microscope comes equipped with LABOMED MaxLite™ coated optics, a sputtered hard coating technology that delivers a research grade of anti-reflective and scratch resistant properties.  This is most useful in earth and materials sciences applications, where integrity of light transmission and mitigation of internal reflections are critical.

For precise conoscopic imaging, an integrated analyzer/Bertrand lens module provides individual flip-in/flip-out of the analyzer and Bertrand lens, with a conveniently located focusing dial.  Centration of the Bertrand lens is achieved through easy-access front mounted centering screws.  A convenient slider slot will accept a range of compensator plates.

A large circular stage with two locking brakes is provided, delivering a smooth 360 degrees of rotation. An optional 100x objective further complements the SF series of strain-free optics, ensuring no optical impurities interfere with polarized light. A fixed verticality crosshair is a standard feature, maintaining its orientation as IPD is adjusted.

Two compensator plate slots and two centering tool slots are located onboard the analyzer/Bertrand lens module to prevent unwanted loss of accessories.  The microscope comes equipped with λ, 1/4 λ, and Quartz-Wedge plates.

    MT-93 Halogen Binocular Advanced Polarizing

MT-93 is Meiji Techno’s Entry level Polarizing Compound Microscope. Equipped with a rotatable 135 mm round metal stage with two stainless steel clamps and vernier graduations and a allen locking screw. The MT-93 is our best buy for a student polarizing microscope that is affordable and portable. The MT-93 is built on a cast aluminum stand that has been designed to have a stable footprint. It has a small compact frame that saves laboratory bench space without compromising optical quality. A new optical standard of precision optics is found in the MT-93 advanced student microscopes for entry level budding geologist looking at tremolite thin sections for the first time. Thin sections are made from small slabs of a rock sample glued to a glass slide (~1 inch by 2 inches), and then ground to a specified thickness of 0.03mm (30 microns).
The rugged cast aluminum base is designed with stability in mind, but compact in design to fit most cabinets. The objective turret nosepiece is in reverse position to permit easier changing and positioning of specimen slides and to protect the objective lenses. The Halogen illumination with intensity control provides optimum image brightness for darker thin sections viewed. Ergonomic Hand Grip for portability and ease of storage. The magnification of this Binocular Polarizing Compound is 40x, 100x, 400x, 1000x.
